Founded in 1812, the house of Laurent Perrier is recognised to be one of the leading, family owned Champagne houses. Delicate and complex with hints of citrus and white fruits. 2 x Saint Veran ‘Moulin du Pont’ Domaine Auvigue 2018, Burgundy, France
Produced by one of the finest growers in St Veran, adjacent to the villages of Pouilly and Fuisse, from Chardonnay vines situated on chalk and limestone hillsides. Wonderfully structured, showing white fruits with hazelnut and a hint of citrus to provide balance. This full bodied southern Burgundy had extended lees ageing in stainless steel and offers much of the richness and complexity of its more famous neighbours Pouilly Fuisse. A good match for river fish, creamy pasta dishes, chicken or veal and goat`s cheese.
2 x Deep Down Sauvignon Blanc 2019, Marlborough, New Zealand (organic & wild ferment)
An organic Sauvignon Blanc from a single vineyard site, made with its wild yeasts and partially fermented in old oak barrels. Tropical in style with notes of kumquat, gooseberry and a fresh lime acidity, the influence of the oak gives a round mouthfeel and makes this a more complex wine than your average New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. Pair with pad thai and aromatic curries, and a perfect match with many fish dishes.
2 x Château Louvie Grand Cru Saint Emilion 2014/15, Bordeaux, France
The blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon creates a wine which has a soft and smooth mouthfeel with plenty of berry and plum fruits combined with woodland notes and a long savoury finish. Ideal with roasted game served with wild rice and stuffing or prime rib steak.
2 x Syrah ‘Back Block’ 2018, Brookfields Estate, Hawkes Bay, New Zealand
A dark ruby colour with sweet berry fruits on the nose. The palate is round and approachable with notes of blackberries, cloves, pepper and earthy tannins. Serve with slow cooked duck breast with a herb crust and wine jus.
2 x Château les Mingets, Sauternes 2014, Bordeaux, France
A rich and concentrated dessert wine from hand harvested Semillon grapes affected by noble rot and matured in oak barriques. It has a concentrated, luscious character, intense flavours of caramelized fruits, pear melon and almond, rounded and balanced by good acidity on the finish. Will accompany foie gras, honey roast chicken, a wide variety of fruits, cake, cream tarts, creme brulee and blue cheeses.
